Event Recap: Visit to Hupenyu Hutswa Children’s Home — Harare, Zimbabwe

As part of the When Mothers Arise weekend, our team visited Hupenyu Hutswa Children’s Home to share hope, practical support, and prayer with the children and caregivers.

Purpose

To encourage the children with God’s love, honor the caregivers, and provide essential supplies that strengthen day-to-day care.

What Happened

• Warm Welcome & Icebreakers: Songs, introductions, and simple games to create a joyful, safe atmosphere.

• Story & Encouragement: A short word on identity, purpose, and resilience, with prayers over each child and the home.

• Small-Group Moments: Volunteers listened, encouraged, and prayed with children and staff.

• Caregiver Appreciation: A brief blessing and thanks for their tireless service.

• Closing Blessing: Corporate prayer for protection, provision, and a bright future.

• Groceries & Toiletries (staples and hygiene essentials)

• School Supplies (notebooks, pens/pencils, and learning aids)

• Children’s Items (age-appropriate resources and treats)

(Note: We intentionally focused on versatile items the home can use immediately.)
